History Vital Care, Inc., was established for the purpose of providing a comprehensive scope of high-quality infusion therapies for stabilized patients in the home setting. The company was founded in 1986 by two pharmacists. The first Vital Care franchise opened with a pharmacy in Birmingham, Alabama, in August 1986. Since that time, Vital Care has grown to more than 130 infusion pharmacy locations. Many of these pharmacies are located in rural areas, where there are no other home infusion providers. Thousands of patients have been treated by Vital Care healthcare professionals through the organization's local providers located in 17 states.
